Professor Livia Pirocchi Tonolli

Professor Livia Pirocchi Tonolli Researcher, at the Italian Institute of Idrobiology on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore, for the study of fresh waters and its micro-organisms (1938), recalling major researchers including Nobel for Medicine, James Watson, 1962. She wanted to support the clinical research of the Italian Group for the Study of Streptokinase in myocardial infarction (G.I.S.S.I.), recognising its great clinical importance, participating in the preliminary organisational meetings and contributing in an economically sensitive way to the most important national multicentre clinical research on thrombolitic therapy in acute myocardial infarction, which has led to a significant reduction in mortality (see Italian Cardiology Journal Vol 17/I, Gennaio 1987). As we know, this research paved the way for a new clinical conception of heart disease therapy. Milan 1909 – Pallance 1985
“I believe that our studies should be almost meaningless. They want to be pursued with charity, such as mathematics.” J.Emerich D. Acton

CULTURE IS... .

When science and humanities talk.

Science and humanities can work together, the thinking of Livia Tonolli, hence the idea of setting up a foundation that can in many ways contribute to science.

Brain Juice is a preparatory course open to all students, including students of the third grade who want to start preparing for the next year’s TOLCs

The course runs over a long period, from 13 January to 1 June, every Saturday morning (excluding holidays), during which the different subjects of the tests will be subject.

The project was created with the idea of providing a valuable alternative to the other courses, qualitatively excellent, but often prohibitive in terms of cost.

One of the strengths of the course lies in the collaboration between experienced teachers and peer educators in order to make the training path more complete.

The lectures will take place in the conference room of the Sant’Anna Hotel in Verbania (Viale Sant’Anna 65)

The cost is EUR 250.

Minimum 4 students, maximum 25 students.
