Conditions
1. Characteristics and purpose
The Livia and Vittorio Tonolli Foundation for Cardiology and Multidisciplinary Sciences, in honor of the spirit and passion of its founder Livia Tonolli for science, culture, and youth, establishes two study grants for students from the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, residing in Italy, who have completed their secondary education in the VCO and are regularly enrolled in the first year of the Faculty of Medicine at any Italian university.
Each grant, amounting to €1,500 (one thousand five hundred euros), aims to support deserving students in their educational journey.
Candidates must submit an essay on one of the following topics of their choice:
- The choice to study Medicine between the scientific method and attention to relationships;
- Studying Medicine in the era of Artificial Intelligence: opportunities and limitations;
- Thinking about the future for those studying Medicine today: reflections, concerns, and plans.
2. Contributions to the study
2.1 Allocation mode
The contributions will be awarded by the Tonolli Foundation, at its sole discretion, based on the recommendation of a Committee composed of three Members from the Scientific Committee and/or the Board of Directors of the Foundation, who will evaluate the submitted essays received by the established deadline.
2.2 Application and related documentation
Applications for admission to the competition should be sent to the Tonolli Foundation to info@fondazionetonolli.it or by ordinary mail to: C.so Nazioni Unite 64, 28925 Verbania by 31 October 2024.
Applications must include:
- An essay not exceeding 10 pages (1 page corresponds to approximately 30 lines of text)
- A cover letter outlining the reasons that motivated the candidate to pursue a course of study in Medicine
- Documentation proving enrollment in the Faculty of Medicine for the academic year 2024-25
2.3 Payment of contributions
The grant will be disbursed via bank transfer, upon presentation of documentation proving enrollment in the first year of the Faculty of Medicine at an Italian university for the academic year 2024-25, by the end of 2024.
The results of the selection, identifying the two most deserving essays, will be communicated to the applicants by the end of November 2024. The grants will be awarded exclusively to students who have passed the admission test to the Faculty of Medicine for the academic year 2024-25.
The documentation submitted for the competition will not be returned.
2.4 Status of fellows
Beneficiaries will be required to submit all requested documentation, including proof of enrollment in the first year of the Faculty of Medicine at the chosen university, at the time of participation in the competition.
